    Trivia time: did you know that the accordion was responsible for setting the standard for western conventional tuning? If I remember it correctly, an accordion has a set, non-adjustable tuning, so other instruments (strings) would have to tune to the accordion when playing in ensemble. This led to the idea of establishing a standard, i.e. A=440 Hz and is unique to western music.

    Something like that - saw it on the Discovery Channel.
