This and DolphinStreet are very, very nice sites. Robert, I saw your posts on the TDPRI and found your DolphinStreet Site from those. Wow, let me say thanks for taking the time to do all of this. You have a way of explaining things that really get the idea across. I had been to this site a while back and was reminded to check it out again by 'Sculpin'.

    Cheers,

    Bob

Hi Bob, thanks for joining the family, eh! I am glad you like the sites!

You've got some nice gear! You should tell us more about the Prosonic. I'm not too familiar with that amp.

    Cheers!

    Thanks Robert!

I just edited the post to change the model on the Crate and to add EVH and Roth to my fav players list.

Wow, believe it or not there is a wiki on it.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fender_Prosonic

I got it new in 96. Custom shop model black tolex. I run it in the A recto mode at 30 watts. Wiki seems incorrect with 40 watts (AB2) - manual says 50 watts in this mode. It had a popping noise when switching channels but Fender fixed it free in 97 or 98.

Don't use the gain channel much but it is usable and you can get a good sound. Sounds really great clean, nice Fender tones. I get a nice clean base sound and use the attenuator to run it hot around 6 or 7 but keep the volume down. Responds nice to pick attack and cleans up. It's a keeper for me.

Great amp Tad heavy at 48lbs / 22kg. Some don't like it, some do. I guess it's that way with just about everything.

    Cheers,

    Bob

    Hi Bob. Welcome.

Those Prosonics are nice. My jamming buddy has one and it is a great sounding rig.

I was also glad to see that you use a DD5. I have used mine for many years and it is road tested. Works like a charm and I actually like the sound for a digital delay. I use the tap temp function a lot. Keeps it in the groove ya know.

Glad to have you hanging with us.

    Welcome to the fretnet Bob..
I can't say that I've given up on a flanger cause I've never liked the effect either. I also can't say the same about Tremolo. I hate them both equally. - Tone2TheBone 2009

Wow, loads of thanx to all. Let me answer some of the Q's...

250Keith: Yup the Fender Supersonic is the evolved Prosonic. Heard lots of good reviews but haven't tried one yet.

Jimi75: Yeah, lots of stories with that old Tele. Bought it in 1976 from a biker friend. He had wrecked his bike and was laying beside it all banged up and knocked out. I helped him up and got him and his bike (Harley) home. He asked me to come by the next day. I did and he offered me that Tele. All I had was $100 and he took it. Went on to play many a gig with it.

tot_Ou_tard: Glad to have turned you on to some players
Hank Garland - 50's Western Swing
Redd Volkaert - Master Tele player like Kirchen
Jerry Donahue - Master Tele player, played with the Hellecasters
Norman Brown - Smooth Jazz player with seemingly unlimited vocabulary
Ulrich Roth - Lead player with 70's Scorpions. Called Uli Jon Roth now.

Again, thanx for the kind words and comments. Hopefully, I can add to the fun.

    Cheers,

    Bob
