Default SX SST62 Stop Tail Pickup improvement

Any suggestions for improving the neck/ middle pickup on the SX SST62 strat type guitar?

I want to keep the strat single coil sound but would consider upgrading the neck and middle pickups to get a better rythym sound.

Right now I have attained a really nice sound using a Grunge pedal into my Crate V8 Palomino. Nice smooth distortion. More experimenting with the stock pickups and some pedals will probably lead to some good sounds, but I was wondering if anyone has upgraded the pickups on one of these.

    Feedback appreciated.

I put in Fender Custom Shop 54's in my SST62. Much better tone after that! Video clips on my site.

might consider the StewMac Megaswitch which changes the middle position from the middle pick alone to the neck and bridge together, I personally like the new sound...

We've done four already, but now we're steady, and then they went one-two-three-four....
