When I'm watchin' you and Fidel Castro in the sand, kissin'!

    Girl you got to roll

She's comin on like a bicycle army
Everybody's waitin' for the man to come down from the tower
Every day is just like a vacation with you layin' right here now
I'm watchin you and Fidel Castro in the sand, assassin!
"Sister Havana" by Urge Overkill. Great tune, great album.

I suppose I need to come up with one now . . .

OK, here's a track by a great band before they started sucking:

    I never needed love before
    Till I met you, girl
A girl like you I have never seen
You came into my life like a whirlwind, girl
You let me know what lovin' really means

    [Refrain]

You got me where you want me, girl
    So no messin' around
You know I never played that hard to please
I've been here many times before
    And walked this sacred ground
But this time you got me on my knees
    You got me

    [Refrain]

My only guess would be something like Foreigner...

Since I seem to have ground this thread to a halt (again), I'll give some hints. This band was originally considered by some (although probably not me) to be a part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. This song is off their second album. Their fourth album sold a bajillion copies but unfortunately pushed the band into the realm of pop where they've remained ever since. Nevertheless, their second and third albums remain classics in my mind.

I didn't think this song was that obscure, but maybe I'm wrong. I heard it a lot in early high school.

Well, I already googled for it, so I'm out of the running. If it helps, I wouldn't really call them heavy metal. I like them, however -- even the pop stuff.

Whitesnake? I realize that it's not overly sexual but Coverdale could have been having a soft moment.

OK, I'll surrender. It's "Lady Strange" by Def Leppard off "High 'N' Dry." And yes, some people lump them in with the NWoBHM. How about this one from a very well known metal singer indeed. Probably his most maudlin song.

    Yesterday has been and gone
Tomorrow will I find the sun
    Or will it rain
    Everybody's having fun
Except for me I'm the lonely one
    I live in shame

    [Chorus]

    I've been the king
    I've been the clown
No broken wings can hold me down
    I'm free again
The jester with a broken crown
It won't be me this time around
    To love in vain

I'm going to feel stupid if this is way off, but isn't that Goodbye to Romance by Mr. John Osbourne?

Well, I did hear Randy playing guitar as soon as I'd read about six words, so I was somewhat confident of my answer, although I didn't think I actually knew the lyrics to that song that well.

I guess that makes it my turn. Hmmm...

And if you're feeling lucky... come and take me home
    And if you feel loved
If you feel lucky, if you feel loved
If you feel lucky, if you feel loved

You've crossed the walls - Excelled
    Further along through their hell
All for my heart, I watch you kill
You always have, you always will
Now spread your wings and sail out to me...

Hopefully not too easy, nor too hard. Good luck!

I guess it's my turn to stall the thread. Hmmm, I thought this one would be relatively easy. The band is not exactly esoteric. I don't want to say anything that will be a dead giveaway, but one of the band members had an accident recently. I would describe their sound as multi-textured and big.

    Anyone? Buehler? Anyone?

If I have no hope of guessing the song, I'll usually google to find the answer. With that in mind, I'll say that I don't think you're going to get anyone to guess this one. The last time I even heard of this band was late 90s.

I had to Google it too. I had never heard the song before. I had heard of the group, but that was it.

Wow. I guess I'm the only one that listens to Deftones. They're definitely worth a listen, IMO.

    How about this one then?

    One, two, one-two-three-four!
Come on all you good rats
we'll send you to heaven you'll find the pearly gates in the froth and the foam
'cause in these vats you've made quite a creation
a potion that turned the Guinness to gold!

Surely that one won't take long. And....go!
