I think a time limit is a good idea. 48 hours seems appropriate. Enough of us seem to check in repeatedly in that time frame, and it seems more than enough time to determine whether or not the lyrics are from a song you know.

So my 48 hrs is long gone on that one. It was "Danny Says" by the Ramones from the album "End of the Century." I am gonna assume Sunnyvalley Steve missed this post because I know he loves the Ramones and the song mentions Idaho in the second line.ude:

Since no one got it and the 48 hours has long expired, I assumed you would post again.

I thought about bumping this last night because it tends to get lost in the shuffle.

Ok, if it's me again, here we go. This one is almost too easy [in my opinion] but since nobody got the last one, I thought I'd keep it simple...

C'mon my friends let's make for the hills,
They say there's gold but I'm lookin' for thrills
You can get your hands on whatever we find
'Cause I'm only coming along for the ride

Well you go your way, I'll go mine
I don't care if we get there on time
Everybody's searchin' for something they say
I'll get my kicks on the way

Over the mountains, across the sea
Who knows what will be waiting for me
I could sail forever to strange sounding names
The faces of people whose places don't change

All I have to do is just close my eyes
See the seagulls wheeling in those far distant skies
All I wanna tell you, all I wanna say
Is count me on the journey don't expect me to stay

    [sick guitar solo]

So here we are at about 27 hours for this one, and nobody yet? I thought this one was a nice slow pitch right over the plate...

I'll give a hint and say it's Pink Floyd, but now we've passed baseball altogether and moved into tee-ball territory.

Default Stumped by Pink Floyd, Go Figure

Well, that one definitely surprised me. The song is called "The Gold, It's In The..." and is from the album Obscured by Clouds. Anyone who loves David Gilmour, if you don't know this song you are cheating yourself out of a great solo!

For those of you who are not familiar with the album, It is the album preceding DSOTM. I think it is by far their most underrated album [enough so that nobody knew this song anyway]. The album shows the Floyd really focusing in on the sound that they developed in songs like Echoes and Embryo, which became templates for the Floyd sound of the 70's.

Somebody else go. I've thrown two strikes already...

You know what, I'm going again...
This one shouldn't be all that difficult either, but I've thought that before. Somebody restore my faith and get this right in the next 48.

    Here goes...
    ------------------

    I will stop,
    I will stop at nothing
    Say the right things,
    Win electioneering
I trust I can rely on your votes

When I go forwards, you go backwards
    And somewhere we will meet

    Riot shields,
    Voodoo economics
    It's just business,
    Cattle prods and the IMF
I trust I can rely on your votes

When I go forwards, you go backwards
    And somewhere we will meet
    ----------

    Anyone?
