    Default Niyaz

I found this band through Stumble Upon a few days ago:

    Niyaz

I have their debut album on order.

    Video (bandwidth intensive):

    The Hunt - Niyaz

No guitar that I can tell, but there is a saz. David Lindley plays the saz.

There is also a media player at the top of the page that you can hear two full songs and some clips.

Azam Ali (the singer) appears with Serj Tankian in the tune "Coma" on Buckethead's Enter the Chicken. Cool tune.

Having studied a few languages in high school and college, I love to listen to the singer sing in Farsi.

    Pretty damn cool Steve.

I played it for my wife. I thought she might like it as she is a d@mned good amateur belly dancing.

She liked it a lot, but said that it is too serious for belly dancing.

    Hey Tung,
Some really cool music there. I never heard of Niyaz before, but I really like ethno-experimental approaches to music.
