Thumbs up FREE Home Recording Software

I actually started this conversation with another Fret.net member in another thread and then realized it might be helpfull to those on a budget or just wanting to save some money... Audacity is a FREE Recording program that works under different platforms.. Mac, Windows, Linux.. it is not to difficult to setup and use to get those multi track clips up here on the net... check it out at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ and don't forget to get a MP3 encoder for saving as mp3's... http://www-users.york.ac.uk/~raa110/audacity/lame.html

Heh, suprised its only just been mentioned. Audacity is what I've been using to record since I started to play guitar :P Its really simple (and somewhat basic) to use, but it gets the job done. For those of us who don't have alot of money, its a godsend.

    regards

    Matt

p.s. another free recording piece of software is Kristal. I'll post a link later

If you got a older mac/pc (on PC only ME/98 are supported) you can check out Pro Tools Free. It is based on a older version but still has rather nice features for sound recording editing.

I can't say that I've given up on a flanger cause I've never liked the effect either. I also can't say the same about Tremolo. I hate them both equally. - Tone2TheBone 2009

Another very good and for personal use free recording software is Krustal Audio engine. It has a great Look and feel and is very easy to use. I gave Audacity and Kristal a try and preferred Kristal:
