Lightbulb Anyone modded a channel switcher?

I've recently purchased a used Boss DD-5 delay pedal. It's amazing and i love it but didn't want to shell out an additional $50-$100 for the tap tempo pedal. so i was wondering if i could mod my two button channel switch pedal that i use on my Vox AD-30 to work as a tap tempo for the DD-5? any suggestions?

gotta be a way, just need to know the switching characteristics required etc..
others are doing it, just have to dig a little deeper I think..

All the FS-5U is, is a momentary switch in a fancy box.

I have that exact pedal and here is what I did:

I went to Radio Shack and got a very inexpensive momentary button switch with the tops you can interchange (red or black 2 tops and switches per pack). I made an elevated small box on my pedal board out of wood (a metal electronics project box will also work) and also got a 1/4" female jack and a short piece of cable (2 leads).

I drilled a hole and mounted the switch on top of the box- drilled another in the side of the small wood box and mounted the jack - wired the two together and voila! Instant inexpensive tap tempo button. Total cost under $2.

I use a short guitar cable to plug between the delay pedal and switch. Works great and if the momentary switch beaks its a breeze and cheap to replace it.

So all you need is a momentary button and a guitar cable for your application.
