Huh? (tube amps and ss amps)
Ok let me get this straight...
Marshalls are making solid state amps now...pretty much full production anymore it seems like...and Crate is making...TUBE AMPS???? When did this happen??? Where have I been????
When I first started playing guitar my first store bought amp was an original Crate amp. Solid State. Wood cabinet. Looked just like...a crate! First gain control amp that totally impressed my friends and me. I was a god. Over the years I burned that amp up and moved on to tube amps. I have to say that amp was a little killer.
Been watching the Crossroads Festival DVD a lot lately and what do I see onstage behind Billy Gibbons but a couple of Crate amps. Wow. I also saw one of his Marshall half stacks next to them. Anyway I'm just blown away by the state of the art these days. Boy do I sometimes feel old. -Rob
