Default Gary Willis talks about file sharing

Just wanted to mention Gary Willis - a fantastic electric bass player now living in Barcelona. He's worked with Scott Henderson and lots of jazz players.

I think of him as sort of an evolution of Jaco Pastorius. Gary has blazing technique, and very cool grooves. :

Anyway, I just looked at his website, and he posted an interesting blog post about file sharing from a working musician's perspective.

    Worthwhile reading.
The Law of Gravity is nonsense. No such law exists. If I think I float, and you think I float, then it happens.

    Good points.
I think that a lot of people do think that the artist has resources that really don't exist IE, bank accounts, investment accounts, royalty streams etc. The perception might be that since they are well known, have records and are praised for their music then they must be wealthy enough. That really isn't true. Many of Europe's biggest bands, After Forever, Within Temptation, Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, Threshold all still have day jobs. Being a professional musician/rock star isn't what it used to be.
