I'm up to six. I've decided that I really don't need that many. Gonna trim it down to one electric, one 6 string acoustic, and one 12 string acoustic. Maybe then I can focus more on practice. :

I've got eight right now, and two in the project stage...which is another story. I was off all last week for a holiday "vacation", during which I planned to be spray painting. However, the weather here did not cooperate, with higher than normal temperatures along with higher than usual humidity. The humidity is a lacquer killer....
Thanks Spud and Brian for running interference for the rest of us here! :
It's always helpful to have a couple of "extreme" examples to use as bargaining points in an arguement. Makes 10 or 15 guitars seem reasonable....
In our house, there's one of us (me) who's a hobby person, and one of us (Mrs. Bloozcat) who's not - unless you consider work a "hobby", I don't. So two of anything that both do the same job seems inexplicable to the non-hobby type. But, I continue to get what I want in my two expensive hobbies, and just benignly ignore my wife's rhetorical questions.
Had to edit that...I actually have eight with two in progress. I must have thought I was telling my wife how many guitars I have...

The one with the most guitars when we die wins.

But you need more than one pic or she'll just claim that those belonged to one guy from the looney bin. To show that lots of guitars are normal, you need to show that all the kids are doing it!Originally Posted by Plank_Spanker

I've got two & I got both of those at the same time. My wife still doesn't understand why I need two.
The other day she said "I think you don't need to get any more of those little boxes" meaning pedals. I should show her some of your little box boards!!
The thing is, right now I agree with her. I don't need any more little boxes.
O, but this year I will get a third guitar.

Ah, but the two are not mutually exclusive! In fact, I'd posit that having more is more conducive to wanting to learn more, because when you get in a rut you can go to another axe for inspiration.Originally Posted by Justaguyin_nc
