But keep in mind that not only does he have a lot of guitars, he has less lawn to cut.

Nothin' wrong with having 3! For quite a number of years when I started out all I had was a no-name MIJ acoustic. We've kinda got accustomed to it being common for guitarists to have batches of guitars (and I'm more guilty than the next guy as far as that goes), but the bottom line is you can only play one at a time! (Unless you're that Michael Angelo Batio guy or whatever he's called.)

I love seeing and reading about other folks' guitars, whether they have 1 or one hundred.

I've got 5 right now: a Strat, an ESP Deluxe, a Charvel, an Ibanez RG 570 and a beater Johnson acoustic that I'm too embarassed to take into public.

Now, what I have GAS for is an entirely different story!

Ibanez RG 570 with a bridge Invader
ESP M II Deluxe with a Tune-o-Matic bridge

    Blackstar HT Club 40

I think I won't be getting a crap load of guitars. I think a good strat, tele, LP, an acoustic and couple of other styles of guitars would be all I'd want. Don't have that LP yet though... Oh, and a ES-339 or similar...

Tone, I'm gonna get a music room one day too. Our oldest kid is going to college next year - I think I'll just steal her room!

Ya know, a year or so ago I found myself wondering, "Hmmm, every year tens of thousands of guitars get made and sold, and there can't be that many new players every year... then there's all the guitars made in the years before... where the heck are all those guitars???" Now I understand - some of you are hoarding!!!

    Whoa there, Eric.

We're gonna need a lot more info than that.

Brands? Models? Years? Countries of origin? Price paid?
