    Default Free Shipping

I'm not sure if someone already posted this, but Carvin has limited time free shipping. I think it applies to everything on their site, but I do know for sure it applies to everything in the latest catalog.

You can view the catalog here:

    http://www.carvin.com/catalogpdf/

    or the entire site:

    http://www.carvin.com/

If you are not in the market for a big ticket item, the free shipping specials are always nice to pick up some of the small things you need. Want some extra guitar straps - padded one for $12.99 (pg 53), amp stands (pg 23), and other small items that you hate to add shipping cost on top of item cost. I'm sure if you are looking at big ticket items, you could also find a Carvin drool bib.

Be careful, as I almost fell for this Carvin ploy. There is a $7.99 handling fee for all orders. You do not see this until you go to check out. The fine print is on the site somewhere, too.

I just checked the catalog and they note a handling fee of $10.99, are you sure that's not waived when they advertise "free shipping"? I tried running an order through, but they ask too much information before you can get an actual final cost.

Here is my most recent invoice on my most recent carvin.$10.99 FREIGHTCHARGE(not bad at all when all shipments are fully insured • All orders are shipped within 3 business days unless back-ordered) which is not waived on free shipping.

Not sure how charging a s/h fee is a ploy and buying direct from the factory only saves you about 30-50% markup from retailers,so I guees I fell for the ploy:

If they are waiving the $10.99 it's not an issue. Also if you pay $10.99 on an order of that size (your order), it's not an issue. I wouldn't pay $10.99 if I am purchasing a $20 item.

I would think the $10.99 is waived.

Ok to be clear. On guitars it is a $10.99 fee for handling.(freight charge)On bigger things like amps more.On say a guitar strap or a cable im not sure the handling fee truthfully. The shipping is free if its free shipping but you still pay the handling fee . Wasnt a deal breaker for me as im sure ya know considering the quality and the price!:

A $10.99 "handling" fee on a $1300.00 order is acceptable, and that you are getting incredible quality gear is a bonus. Don't get me wrong, I love Carvin and think they make some of the best guitars and pickups on the planet and for a very reasonable price. My concern, however, is that Carvin offers free shipping but adds a phantom "handling" fee. I have been ordering from Carvin for over 20 years, and up until the last two years and the frequent free shipping deals, there never was a "handling" fee. If a company offers free shipping, it should be free. I recently tried to order pickups on their free shipping deal, and was assessed a "handling" fee at checkout. It was rather annoying.

I placed the order about five months ago when they were advertising the free shipping. I was tagged with a $8.99 handling fee at check out. Dumbfounded, I turned to the catalogue, and there it was in print -- the dreaded hidden handling fee.

It's not the S&H charges that bother me. It's that you forgot to order a guitar!!

$1,360 for a case, some pups, some inlays, straplocks, a *single* fret, a logo, and a copper head metallic (whatever *that* is)?!?

...O, I just noticed that the fret is stainless steel & jumbo...

    Never mind.

    Lucky!

That is one guitar that has really caught my eye. Carvin USA quality, superb finish, and custom shop features all for about a grand?! Enjoy it, mud.:
