I know--I posted this same tune yesterday, but I've been fooling around some more w/ the recording hardware. I reinstalled a sound card I had that given me trouble in the past, but it seems to be working fine at the moment. So I re-recorded the Mary Had a Little Lamb intro, but this time (1) at full speed, and (2) on my Strat tuned to Eb, matching the original key of the background track. Same amp settings as yesterday's clip, and again mic'ed with the Behringer XM8500.
To my ear, this sound card did a lot better than the onboard Realtek sound I was using previously. Seems to me to be the best sound quality I've achieved, but I need the opinions of impartial listeners. Tell me what you think. Here are links to both clips:

the sound quality is definately better on the second one....although i kinda liked the slowed down version!
