    Default The New Guy

Hey, all..just joined up today after seeing info about this site over at a Vox site. My name is Wes, I'm 36 and reside in Indiana. I've been playing guitar off and on for over 20 years, but still consider myself to be an "intermediate" player (if that!). Looking forward to meeting some great musicians and learning as much as possible!

    My gear is as follows:
Fernandes Revolver Elite with Sustainer and Seymour Duncan pickups
Schecter C-1 Classic with Seymour Duncan Pickups
Line 6 Guitar Port for home jamming/recording
Vox AD60VTX amp that I use in my church's praise team

Check out a few of my recorded tunes at www.myspace.com/wesleroy

Funny thing about that...my middle name really IS "Lawless"...I know that's hard to believe, but my dad named me after 2 horse jockeys that he knew...one's name was "Weston Suarez", the other "Lawless Brusard"...hence the name "Weston Lawless"...but just call me "Wes" I always wondered what all the people in my church would think if they saw the "Lawless" part in my email address! But I'm cursed with it I guess...although my dad loves it...that's another story! Thanks for the welcome!

I tend to fret quite often...but mostly in the terms of "fear" of all the monsters lurking around here!

Welcome Lawless, I'm new here too, I think you'll like it here, I am so far

    How's that Fernandes?
I almost bought one before I decided to build one. I especially like the one used by Riggs from Rob Zombie.

I really love my Fernandes...I bought it a year or 2 ago off Ebay. The new ones were running $949 at that time, but I got mine for $500. The previous owner had swapped out the stock pickups for a Duncan Hot Rail in the middle and a Duncan Distortion in the bridge..and it has the Sustainer in the neck position. Came with a hard case and not a scratch on it, so I have been really pleased. It plays much more smooth than my new Schecter C-1 Classic, partly because of the larger frets and ebony fretboard. The Schecter is much more pretty though, if that counts for much!

Thanks for the welcome guys! I appreciate it!

    Welcome lawless!

I played a Fernandez sustainer equipped guitar once, it was really fun. Kinda like a e-bow.
I can't say that I've given up on a flanger cause I've never liked the effect either. I also can't say the same about Tremolo. I hate them both equally. - Tone2TheBone 2009

If I had any art talent I would make a rebel western comic with a brooding anti-hero named Weston Lawless. Tough & indepedent, but full of guts & heart.

    .....somewhere a coyote hooOOOooowls

A few miles away down in the valley under the moonlight....

    ....a harp player blows ..
    .................................................. ........the cowboys fart.

    Beans, beans the musical fruit...

Talking Weston Lawless: A Hard nights ride.

Please, please tell me if I am going too far. I'm just a lovable goof. But your name is without a doubt the damn coolest real name that I have *ever* heard.

You have to just once, do the followwing...

Stand by your wife (if you have one) in the backyard...Take a big chaw of tobaccy...

...stare at the full moon in silence for 21 minutes...

rub (just once) your 3 day old beard..

    s p i t

    and mumble...

looks like its gonna be a hard nights ride...

It works best if there are crickets chirping the the background

    ....chhhheeeiiIIIiiirrppp

    chiiiIIrrpp...

Love that description - I could see it without even closing my eyes!

I agree - humo(u)r rocks - without it we are all nothing.

Geeez Weston didja have to ruin my comic reverie by mentioning you putting on chaps?!?

    Welcome.

Guess I'll have to be the anti-hero...Call me Montana (yup, jes Montana
no last name, I've got a mysterious past and no future)...

As a matter of fact I happen to have a 2 day old beard right now (I ran out of shaving cream & haven't managed to buy any yet).

I'd spit, but my wife doesn't appreciate the stains on the wall.
