Here's a nice country BT. One of the few I've run across with smooth transitions and a good balanced sound.

And once through w/ my attempt at some steel guitar type bends, and such.

I can't say that I've given up on a flanger cause I've never liked the effect either. I also can't say the same about Tremolo. I hate them both equally. - Tone2TheBone 2009
Oldguy,
nice BT! You nailed that pedal steel vibe - I like your bends! Great playing. :
SuperSwede, that's some serious squish there! nice build - country like beginning, bluesy phrases near the end - awesome.
I tried to play something more oldschool: http://www.box.net/shared/nxhryi7cos

To emit the gurgling or sucking sound of soft mud being walked on.
Thanks Vihar
I really liked that tremolo sound in your recording. Awesome! Brokeback Mountain here we come! :

Thank you, SS. Was a joy to play over a nice track like this.
SS and Vihar....nice job guys!!!
Thanks for adding to this, you both sound great!!
SS, I heard a sound reminiscent of Haggard in yours. Great sound.
Vihar, your take nailed the old school thing. Reminded me of the tear jerkers from the '50s country radio heyday.
Did either of you notice how the melody could give a nod to "People Get Ready" where this song starts, and later again after the bridge?: On my first listen, I thought Jeff Beck was gonna start playing, followed by Rod Stewart singing.
I guess when you've only got 12 notes to work with, something's going to sound like something else occasionally. Or maybe I just imagined it......

Oldguy, I love old Merle! Cannot get enough of his music! His lyrics are often very interesting too (just listen to "The girl turned ripe" !)
I also noticed the similarity with "people get ready" but I had the Ziggy Marley version in my head!

Man. This is gonna sound strange but that made me cry. So many memories of pickers in the honky tonks that I grew up in. :Originally Posted by Vihar
