SS, do me a favour and keep the POD XT. This will onl be another item in your "why did I sell it" list!

The Tube Man is a great tool and you will enjoy its sound. I played through it some couple times when I recorded commercial jingles for the radio.

Hell yeah! 20 minutes of unboxing just like gearwire

Nah, but I will do a couple of audio demos later!
I can't say that I've given up on a flanger cause I've never liked the effect either. I also can't say the same about Tremolo. I hate them both equally. - Tone2TheBone 2009

Heh as stated...recording interferes with my noodling. I wanna see what kind of 12AX7s he gets. Or ECC83s for that matter!

Remember Swede Jimi didn't worry what were in his Marshalls (your tube quest), as long as they worked but they sounded good anyway!

Heh.. well I´m not sure that changing the tube can be considered as modding but sure.. why not try and see what happens... if I dont like it I can always go back to the original tube.

Oh, sure it is SS. That's how "modified" got shortened to "mod"...........
"Dude, I modded my guitar myself".
    "For real, dude?"
"Sure 'nuff, dude......put 8's on it to make bends easier".

Keep us updated on how you like the pedal, SS. :

Does it sound better than the Pod through headphones?

The PodXT sounds great through headphones, but this little fella sounds even better to my ears... I now have (except for the GR3 reverb) a complete analog sound chain. The F.E.T based GT2 > Tube driven H&K > Garageband.

Now you just need a Lexicon LXP-1 like I have!
That is a fantastic sounding old 80s reverb.

Ahh, but you see, the Alesis will bite the dust once you hear the Lexicon! There's something magical about those old Lexicon units.

Oh yes, plenty of different reverbs - hall, plate, etc.

You can get a Lexicon LXP-1 on eBay for around $100.
