Default Extreme reunion and new album

Looks like Extreme has gotten back together and will soon release a new album. If you haven't heard or seen Nuno Bettencourt play look around youtube. There is a reason he has a signature guitar.

    Update From Nuno
    Hey Everyone... Nuno here.

Thank you for all your support and great responses we've been getting on the forums and on Myspace. I just wanted to give you an update on what Extreme is up to…

We are now finishing up the recording of our new release... which BTW rocks. We had a great time jamming and creating. We ended up with about 24 tunes...which we dwindled down to the 14 that will be on the record. And I'm sure it's no surprise to you, our fans, that they are a "mish mosh" of Old School Rock and some tasty abstract ditties. As a band we always manage to be misfits in the midst of whatever music is out there. But I guarantee it will be delicious... we are very, very excited to share it with you. Both on record and live when we come to your town... and WE WILL. Yes... we plan to tour for at least 1 year, well probably 2 years...cause we've got alot of catching up to do with you guys and gals... And we can't ****ing wait... Shit! There I go ****ing swearing again... what a prick... anyways.

It's also great to welcome Kevin "FIGG" Figuieredo to the family. I could say lot's about Figg and what he brings to the intensity and sound of this band in 2008... but in the words of Joe Perry... I will "Let the music do the talking."
And when I speak about the Extreme family... I also want to mention that Paul Geary is still... very much a part of the family. I'm very excited to tell you that he will be involved in the managerial side of the band... working closely with us and new addition to our business team, Robby Hoffman... to help reclaim our block of land in the music ghetto.

Yes... Lock up your daughters and lock up your wife... Lock up your back door and run for your life. Cause once we move back in...We plan to be around for the rest of our days... God willing... how ever long that may be.

Well... that's it for now. Who ever is making the trip to LA to see us... see ya there and say hello. We will have a drink at the Hilton bar afterwards.
And for the rest of you see ya soon...

    Oh yeah... and btw.
There is a film called SMART PEOPLE coming out in April on Miramax... Check it out...it's a cool little quirky flick. I also happened to Score the music for the film...and there are also some tracks on there that Gary and I wrote.

    Ok.
on behalf of Pat, Gary and Kevin............ Bye.

Extreme II Pornographitti was one of those albums where once I heard one song, I had to run out and buy the disc.

Get the Funk Out! has to be one of my all time 'Heavy' farourites! It's a song that begs to be played with a little (OK.. a lot of) volume behind it.

Glad to hear the boys are making a go of it again!

Nuno is an awesome guitar talent, and it's good that Extreme is reuniting. Gary was miscast in Van Halen and asked to sing songs way outside his vocal range.

I bet they shy away from "More Than Words" on tour, though.

Great news! I totally dug Extreme back then and I was lucky enough to meet Nuno in person 2 years ago. What a brilliant guitarist. His solo in "Get the Funk out" is still one of the best solos ever. The tapping part is so tasty, it is not just showing off!

If I take into consideration what crappy bands you hear on MTV, it is absolutely needful that old band reunite to bring RNR back!

I wish GNR would reunite one day.

No I put on some Pronographitti and rock!!!

By the way, when I was working for Fender one of the warehouse guys in the US told me that Nuno once worked part time in this warehouse, before he got big with Extreme and that he already then put a left hand neck on a strat...so to say, he designed his signature guitar at Fender :-)
