    Tried as I may to stay one step ahead of this nefarious affliction, it ran me down again............................:

    I've been longing for a P90 equipped guitar for quite a while, and I found the guitar I want - Gibson SG Special in ebony satin:

    That SG surely rocks. Very nice guitar.

    Yes, it is a tremelo bar. The call it a vibrolo. The strings are attached to it.
    The piece is anchored to the body and is curved metal. That acts as a spring when the handle is moved changing the tension on the strings. The Custom has a fancy metal piece that attached to the vibrolo and went to the bottom of the body. You can see it on an Angus Young.
