    Default String squeak

    I've been playing for quite a few years off and on and wonder if anybody else has a problem with string squeak. It's not usually a problem, but for some reason, I'll go through spells of having a lot of string squeak. Then, after a little while, it goes away. Nothing earth shattering, more annoyance than anything, but it is frustrating when it hits.

    Sometimes changing strings helps, sometimes not. Sometimes cleaning/lubing the strings helps, sometimes not. Sometimes it just "goes away". I guess it's like other things that run in cycles, 'course it could just be me...

    For me it's mainly a technique thing. If I notice the noise it tells me that I might be being a little lazy so I focus on my technique for a while and then everything is OK. I'm better about it too if I have harder callouses on my fingers.
