    Default combo amps

Hi all I have looked at acouple of amps that say guitar / bass combo amp.
What I was wondering how good are the so called combo amps for 1 a guitar
    2 a bass . ( I know not together)
Is it some thing too good to be true?
or should you just buy a guitar amp say 100 watt for guitar & for bass again a 100w bass amp?

I have a LINE6 Spider III 12" that I have used with my bassguitar. The
recording I did was with a TSM MT-87 (100$) and the result was better then expected. But I donĀ“t think a combo if you gonna use it professionally is any good.

If you're looking for something to double up a bass amp would do but run the guitar through a Sansamp or a modeller for decent guitar tones. Bass amps are quite hi-fi compared to the acme of 1940s technology that is a good sounding guitar amp .
