Default Finally made the big purchase

I have been gassing for a new acoustic for some time....don't get me wrong..I love my Parkwood....but remember I came here from the Washburn forum. I have had many lust affairs with different models of Washburn acoustics. First it was the J28SDL Jumbo, I played a couple and they sounded awesome...but in the end it not being solid wood turned me off....I still love the look tho....and this merry go round never stops spinning :-)

I then moved on to the WD18 which was promptly discontinued and I could not get one.

Up next was the WD32SCE....had it in my hands a few times....but I did not want to dip into real money to get it and when I finally had some funny money to spend I went back and it was gone.

During this time I had been emailing back and forth with a very popular online retailer and he let me know he had an old stock D46S still on hand and might be able to make me a deal on it....I hemmed and hawed as I usually do....then after the WD32SCE episode...I went out and I played a D46S in our local Washburn Dealers store....and I was hooked....I came back that night emailed Dave and said I really want this guitar, but I have to wait a few weeks until I rebuild my guitar fund. Take a look at this video it is a demo of the D46S

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIpNciMpsZk

I also have some pictures of my exact guitar that were sent during the tempt/buy process

    The Headstock

    The Back

    The Front

She is coming with a GC110 case too

I mailed the check off yesterday....so somewhere in the next 2 weeks this beauty should arrive....and I am at least somewhat excited.

Sweet choice Kazz. My daughter has a D46S and I have the twelve string version. They're visually stunning guitars and they sound as good as they look. You'll love it.

    Alright KAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!

I'm surprised you didn't explode, I know that was a seriious amount of time that GAS was building up. The guitar looks real nice, looking forward the review when it arrives.

Dave told me to box it up because it had to go to Indiana. He did mention the "Dylan Rules" sticker I put on the top near the sound hole, didn't he?

Warren, I'm not sure, but I think he just called you an ash. Maybe he was referring to pancakes and he saw your ash while cooking.

I think I am going to name this guitar Joe Dirt.....after the Mullet.....all business up front (Solid Spruce Top) and Rock N Roll in the back (Quilted Ash Back and Sides)

I also am expecting a smaller package sometime this week that is a Vox Wah that I just cannot wait to play around with on the Dark Side.....and even more so excited for when my boys come back to visit to see what Jordan can do with the wah....

Here's a few shots of my twelve string to hold you over for a few days Kazz. To be honest I've had to do very little set up work on her. Change the strings and adjust the truss rod and you should be in good shape.
