I went from not being high on Tele's, to purchasing a Peavey Tele, to playing a MIA Tele before lessons today and thinking how am I going to get this drool off of my shirt.

Of course, you know me well, and so you know I concur with you thinking of cruising for a G&L if you're thinking of 'going all in' on a Tele someday.

The ASAT Classic would be the closest, although there's no 'ashtray' bridge cover, it has 6 saddles, not the 'vintage' 3 shared, and has Leo's improved pickups and circuitry (if you noticed, that 52's neck pickup does not vary in tone, with the true 52's pre-set bassy sound, the tone control being a 'blender'). But it's got the 7.5" radius narrow nut slim neck that you wrapped your left hand around.

You wouldn't want my black & gold ASAT Semi-Hollow, though. It's not at all like a 'Classic'. But it's still on the market.

So if I sell the Epi SG and the Dot, sell the Ibanez ARC300, and sell the Peavey - then I might be getting close to your G&L. That would leave me with the Fender Strat and the G&L, which certainly would be two nice guitars to be left with. Although tempting, I could never sell the Dot, I'm on the fence about selling the Ibanez, and the Peavey is too new to sell, but of course if it means upgrading to the G&L...

So that leaves me with the Epi SG - I'll trade you straight up

Last year I was looking for a Tele. I probably tried 30 or 40 From Squier to vintage Reissue. The only one that I felt like "this is the one" was that one you played. They also come with a complete 6 saddle bridge and a different set of electronics. The damage was almost 1700 Can. at the time so I passed. They are quite a nice piece though.
As far as the amp goes I have the Blues Deluxe Reissue which is the tweed version of the Hot rod Deluxe. It doesn't have the second channel though but a great 40 watt tube amp. Sweet clean tone on them for sure.

Your need to "re-orient" your thinking.

To worry that you might be somehow "converted" from what you're currently playing, to Teles...only, suggests that this is a zero sum game. Think of this as not converting from one mind set to another in which your original is abandoned or lessened. Think of your new found love of Teles as an enhancement, or an addition to what you have now. An addition that does not diminish your other equipment in any way.

To use a favorite theme for an analogy, think of yourself as a Borg:
"We are the Borg (or in your case, We are Strum...) You will be assimilated. We will add your biological and technical distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us (me). Resistance is futile."

Note that there is no ambiguity anywhere in this message, no trade off of one thing for another. Simple acquisition, accumulation, and collective thought. And after all, isn't that the essence of Gear Acquisition Syndrome?
