I love mountain wildflowers!
I pick a moon dog.
What kind of flowers are those?

those particular ones are wild Lupine that come in varying shades of yellow, white and purple/violet. Really big also this year has been Arrowleaf Balsam root that looks like a large, all yellow daisy. they are past prime on the lower slopes but still nice high up. Indian paintbrush, skyrockets and a bunch more I don't know are out too.Originally Posted by Robert
This year is the best year anyone can remember for flowers, due to a cool and moist spring, I think. Very nice after last year's fires. You don't see it in these pics, but on some rides, I have had a lot of green highlighted by flowers in the foreground, then majestic peaks with snow fields that usually would have melted by now visible across the valley. Beautiful!

Nice pics, that is a area that I have yet to visit.
Here is an update to this post. This is a vid showing one of two new "flow" trails with purpose built features for jumping, etc. Really fun stuff, and really helps one to see the similarities between mountain biking and skiing in terms of how you are standing and moving on the bike. I do NOT jump high like this, but am learning at least some.

I could not find a vid, but here is a pic of the flow trail west of Hailey that I ride to from home:

Wait, here is a vid of punchline.
And here an IMBA article on the recent trail building.

Sun Valley resort is building a new lift served flow type trail as well on Baldy.
Of course, the excellent cross country and epic length rides are all still out there too.
Cycling is going off in SV!

Holy cow Steve, those trails look awesome!
I think I know where I'm heading for next year's vacation.
Are there many kid-friendly trails there?
There are quite a few that the kiddos can ride. Up in Ketchum, Adams Gulch, Corral Creek, and one or two others avoid hard climbs. In Hailey, near that punchline trail, there are some new IMBA style trails that are kid and novice friendly in terms of grind required etc. There is the Harriman trail north of Ketchum that goes all the way to Galena that is essentially road wide, and gravelled. And there are many miles of paved bike path that are almost all gentle grade. So there are options for all.

Awesome! I could enjoy that.
I know of a couple that build a flow track in their back yard in Colorado. Why can't I have neighbors like that?
