    Default Rogue Basses

My bass player in my band was recently bitten by the GAS bug, and decided to buy an acoustic bass. She did a ton of research, and ended up buying a Rogue at $169.00 from the 'Friend.

What does $169.00 buy you these days, you ask?

    Evidently, quite a bit.

The bass had an what I thought to be an ash top in trans black. Multilayered binding that was just about flawless, with an abalone layer sandwiched between the white binding material. Gold hardware. Fit and finish was absolutely stunning, considering the price point. I don't think I have *ever* seen frets polished so well. Very well done! I sat down and played on it a bit (sans set up or even a tuning), and the acoustic tone is probably my favorite bass tone: woody and clear, with a tight bottom end and a nice, bright sound to round it all out. With a good set up it'll definitely be a player, and a good idea for a bass to keep at home...
