    Exclamation FS: '05 Tacoma JK28C-E4

    EDITED-PRICE DROP & PAYMENT METHOD - IN RED- 8-31-08
As I explained in my FS thread on my '02 G&L Comanche, personal cirumstances have motivated me to part with some luxury items. This, my last Tacoma (I had 2 others), is one of them.

She was born in Tacoma, WA on July 16, 2005 (s/n I2660010) and is the first one I bought from my local dealer in '06, and got me all crazy for these fine guitars that, according to many, are in the same league as a number of 'boutique' brands, and cost about half or less of what a new Taylor or Martin would.

If you dabble with (or, more likely, are serious about) acoustics, then this all-solid woods Jumbo with Hawaiian Koa back & sides, Sitka Spruce top, one-piece 1 5/8" nut-width satin finish mahogany neck (the body & top are UV gloss), Tusq nut & saddle, ebony fingerboard, bridge & bridge pins (w/abalone inlay tops), tortoise bindings, abalone fret marker & headstock logo inlays, Gold Gotoh Tacoma tuners & a Fishman PrefixPlus Preamp onboard with the Matrix UST will light your fire.

If you dislike 'barndoor' onboard electronics on the side of an acoustic because you somehow have been led to think it has more than a minimal impact, then you can just hold that thought, hit your back button now and fahgeddaboudit, since she's got the Fishman PrefixPlus/Matrix UST system.

But if you want An Absolute Cannon with clear, balanced string articulation and a tone from Koa that many describe as a cross between mahogany & maple, and like the Fishman, then maybe you'll want to adopt her as your own.

Like my '02 Comanche in my other ad, she's never gigged and seldom left the smoke-free confines of my home studio and thus she & her case (Tacoma's best, Deluxe hardshell) are virtually mint.

She's been meticulously and lovingly kept with a Kyser Lifeguard in her mouth and stored in my 'humidor' guitar closet & cabinet at a constant 72 degrees F and 45-50% RH. I have not added a body strap button, but will include Tacoma's template & instructions to do so if you'd like.

Also included are the Kyser Lifeguard and 2 custom TRC's... a Pao Ferro and a Cocobolo (pics below) besides the stock black plastic one. Oh yeah...the trussrod wrench/screwdriver tool, case key, and Fishman manual, too. Strung with D'add EJ-16's (.010-.047).

It's a shame that Fender has shut town the Tacoma, WA factory this and so many other marvelous acoustics were made by some terrific luthiers and stopped producing this and other 'traditional' model acoustics.

This wonderful guitar originally listed for around $2,400US, I've seen only one recently or currently, alledgedly new, from an E-bay 'Store' with a BIN Price of (I think) $1,769.

She can be yours for $1,250 including shipping to the lower 48 U.S., professionally packed and shipped by my local dealer, or for $1,200, no shipping, if you're close enough to pick it up there (Hesperia, CA, 90 miles inland from Los Angeles). I don't do PayPal, so a money order mailed to me in advance will get this baby to my dealer's & on her way to a new home.
Feel free to e-mail me with any questions or more pics. Thanks.

I know through our calls and e-mail, this one is tearing you apart. I wish I was in a position to buy it and hold it for you, but we both know that isn't going to happen.

This is definitely a very nice guitar and someone is going to be getting themselves a real "keeper".

You've got that, right, my friend. Without a doubt, the finest acoustic guitar I've ever been lucky enuff to own or play. But there comes a time when one has to re-evaluate & re-prioritize, and at this particular convergence of events in my life, she's a luxury, not a necessity.

In the bigger picture, I've got others that are mighty fine in their own right, and I won't be short any players. At least not if someone takes this one on (and the Comanche). Then I can hold on & hold out a bit, depending on how the cards are dealt, before deciding on which will be moving in a 'second wave' if need be.

These first 2 were a simple choice to make compared to which I'd have to let go next. And it only took me about a month of picking the petals off daisies.

The only thing I've done to her in our 2 years of 'marriage' is get her to open up and sound even better than she did new. Don't know if y'all can tell from the pics, but the neck is 'super slim' in profile, feels a whole lot like my Epi Sheraton. I had her set up for low action to chord up the neck, and she plays like buttah. But it's time for her to find a new paramour...

First used JK28C in a while popped up on sleeze-bay, I guess yesterday. ...starting bid is $1,400, free shipping...funny..I'd bumped my price to that on the Tacoma Forum & took it off the G&LDP yesterday before this popped up.

I've had 55 views on mine over there, but 0 replies. I'll be interested in seeing where this one goes. If it sells, maybe they'll stop sniffing the cork over there and admit what mine is worth. With that kind of opening bid, it probably won't. If my dealer ends up e-baying mine for me, he's suggested I set my opener low to draw some flies, but set my reserve around what I want to net.

A little newer than mine, upgraded bone nut & saddle, but the Baggs preamp a lower-grade factory option than the Fishman on mine

    used '06 JK28C on e-bay

I know it's a bit much for anyone here, but my price to Fretters Only stays at $1,300USD incl shipping to lower 48US by credit card or paypal...I can come down a bit if by money order, and if anyone prefers to pay the shipping themselves like if they have their own shipper business acct.

    Default Price Drop

I just dropped the price on the Tacoma Forum for this guitar (due to an underwhelming response from the afficionados), and so, I've dropped it below that price here to offer the Best Price to my Fellow Fretnetters. See the edits in red to the original post above.

He explained in the description... Truss rod covers (TRC).
"...2 custom TRC's... a Pao Ferro and a Cocobolo (pics below) besides the stock black plastic one."

I watched this one, an early '06 with the E6 Baggs Miratone, but with bone nut & saddle upgrades, on e-bay that went on a single bid this morning that met the minimum $1,400 bid it opened with 6 days ago.

    JK28C-E6 won for 1400 Bucks

So I guess I had mine priced fairly to begin with, and now it's at a bargain price.

    Yep....just me again...

Like my G&L Comanche, this is headed soon for e-bay and the world in general to maybe take a shot at....so I took some outdoor light detail pics this past weekend:

First is the headstock with the custom-made cocobolo Truss Rod Cover...then the immaculate fretboard (no wear), a closer look at the top & side grain, a look at the butt-end & endpin/jack, and of the back, in the case.

That thread about Dream Guitars? I found my acoustic with this one.

    But life is funny...

    Just me with a Bump.

Couple of more pics for the impending move to e-bay this weekend, although a quick chat yesterday with my local dealer that I bought it from new 2 years ago could change that move. He's calling his Tacoma diehards... a couple of guys have asked him about getting a JK28C...he's gonna 'test their' price point' and show them the one that went for 1400 on e-bay a couple of weeks ago with the Baggs for Tacoma Miratone preamp/pickup (see my post aboe someplace on that one).

The Fishman PrefixPlus was/is the top-of-line preamp/pup system upgrade, $100 more MSRP than the Baggs. It precisely controls the Matrix Under Saddle Transducer. Pinch the clip thingy at the top and the module flips open on a hinge for battery access:
