    Question I didn't expect...........

after owning this guitar a little over 6 months for the Nitro and the paint on my Faded SG "Worn Cherry" to start giving way so soon. I do practice about 1-2 hours daily AND play out 2x a week. Not to mention this is my "go to" guitar for everything. On the neck and on the body where my elbow rests on it. I'm not complaining but when they said that these were some thin skinned guitars .... paint and nitro ...... they weren't kidding.

Anyone else have this type of thing with a faded series by gibson?

Yea ive even helped mine along in a few places ...........(around knobs, neck ,arm area on upper part of an LP)

I love the finish and mine is tv yellow and hot rodded baby!!!!!

I also love this type finish on the highway 1 strats ,owning several and using several bodies on frankenstrats:
"I love being alive and I will be the best man I possibly can. I will take love wherever I find it and offer it to whoever will take it... seek knowledge from those wiser and teach those who wish to learn from me."
"Develop your talent, man, and leave the world something. Records are really gifts from people. To think that an artist would love you enough to share his music with anyone is a beautiful thing."
    Duane Skydog Allman

You come to a point in your life when you really don't care what people think about you, you just care what you think about yourself." - Evel Knievel

There isn't near as much nitro applied to the faded finishes as there is to those high gloss finishes, and that satin finish will wear much sooner than a high gloss one.

The faded Gibbies are work horses.......................let them wear with honor.

Would these be Gibson fadeds? Or Epi fadeds?
