I just picked up a '72 Tele Thinline reissue yesterday from GC. Here are my initial impressions:

The build quality is excellent. Absolutely no flaws in the finish, and the neck gap pocket is tight. The guitar did need some set up when I got it home..the neck needed straightened and i had to lower the action, but other than that, nothing major.

The tones: surprisingly, the bridge pickup is very bright. It takes some getting used to considering I'm a strat player and play alot on the neck pickup. The neck pickup on this guitar on the other hand, is pretty dark...great for jazz tones, and some fat blues on clean settings.

This guitar has one of the most comfortable necks I've played, despite the 7.25" radius. It's been a while since I played a vintage radius guitar, but it's very easy to bend strings. It has 9's on it now, but I'll probably just go up to 9.5's once I feel like stringing it.

The guitar sounds excellent through all my amps, and really shines on the AD50VT and Flextone. I haven't tried it yet on the Bluesbreaker.

I'd highly recommend this guitar. Some folks tend to swap out the 250k pots for 500k pots to brighten the neck pup, but I'm going to leave it as is now.

Pictures to follow...
