I can't say that I've given up on a flanger cause I've never liked the effect either. I also can't say the same about Tremolo. I hate them both equally. - Tone2TheBone 2009
Thanks Calle! The guitar came with a set of D'Addario 9s on it and I was going to switch them out to 10s but I'm liking how they sound and play with the 9s. I've been playing it everyday since I got it and the strings are still resilient and bouncy and bright and the pine body on the guitar just resonates so well even with the lighter strings. I'm gonna stick with 9s on this baby for awhile.Originally Posted by SuperSwede

Yeah 9´s work on teles, but strats imho needs at least 10-46 to sound really good.Originally Posted by Tone2TheBone

Don't laugh, but I found out that 9.5's are fitting best on my tele and also on my Yamaha strat. 9's are to thin for me and 10's don't bend so well. But I use 10's on my Les Paul Copy that has a shorter scale.Originally Posted by SuperSwede

I never tried 9,5´s but I might have to try a set of those... any special brand that you recommend?

I only use 9.5 D'Addarios exclusivley. They are by far the longest lasting, and least susceptable to corrosion and rust than any strings I have tried.
I have them on everything including my LPs and Semi hollow bodies.
They sound really good on my CV50s Strat.

Ha! Tele-ish now inbound.
I looked at a CV '50 in the local music store and they had it on a stand up front by the register; however, the sales dudes didn't seem to know what they had.
I mentioned that it is a much enjoyed strat by many on the internet, favored by some over the MIM standard in many regards.
No comment from the sales guys other than, yeah we sold a few already.
They probably don't want the word broadcasted too loudly because they are a fender dealer and have a LARGE wall packed with "expensive" fenders, not MIM standards.
I can only imagine what they tell the customers. They are selling them for 299 though but I'm sure they are pushing for the expensive fenders and other expensive guitars they carry if they can.
To me it looked great. I didn't play it because I was in a hurry but I sure wanted to find out what all the great comments were about.
Next time I'm going to play it.
This is just another example of how forums like this help us average guys out because I'm sure the salesmen are not going to give you the same level of gassification that we give each other. They'll tell you about it, maybe, maybe not. They might make more profit off selling the cheaper Squires. Plus I just don't think they know how really good some of the guitars are because they play so many and tend to like certain expensive ones that they have in their own collections, modded and otherwise.

I'm seriously gassing for the CV tele pinecaster.
I said, "thanks, but no thanks for those GAS inducing clips from Tone".
I pick a moon dog.
Oh come on you know you want one and they're cheap.Originally Posted by tot_Ou_tard

And you'd better get one now before they change the factory to one of lesser quality.:

This is actually more possible than many may think because "time waits for no one" (RS) and few know better than these big companies that are operating in a climate of incredible competition that you wouldn't believe. Just staying in business is the main priority. They have new plans already off the drawing board. They DON'T stand still and rest on their product line. Much to our advantage.
They would switch that operation to another plant without even missing more than a few beats. Quick, if they decided that's what needed to happen.
Who knows, however, how this economic deal is going to affect these companies seemingly far removed from the disaster scene.
