I always have a problem with Guitar Player when they do this. Their idea of budget is pretty pricey.

For instance: the Ibanez SA260 retails at $600 (street $450), Parker PM10 ($798 retail/$499 street). I don't know about you but that is a caviar budget for me. That is in the Fender MIA ballpark. In fact only two guitars in the whole collection is listed at under $300 retail.

While many of the guitars in the article are pretty nice I think budget should be around $250 or less.
How about we come up with our own budget guitar review?

Great idea Spud! 500usd street price cannot really be considered as budget?
I can't say that I've given up on a flanger cause I've never liked the effect either. I also can't say the same about Tremolo. I hate them both equally. - Tone2TheBone 2009

But not everybody buys guitars by the dozen, Spuds!

Seriously, a limit of $200 on actual street price would be a better critieria for "budget" guitars....

I keep looking at that Washburn Idol. It's a truly beautiful guitar for the bucks. I'd buy one, but I just can't justify another six-string. I still have to cover all the basses (pun COMPLETELY intended)!

Well, I could resist the power blue Strat clone on Rondo's Music for $99, so I pulled the trigger last night. I'll post a review when it comes in.
