The Australian Pink Floyd North American tour starts in October.
If you haven't seen or heard of them check out the web site.

If you were to go to the show but not look at any of the members you probably couldn't tell the two bands and shows apart. They are that good.

Google won't search for Chuck Norris because it knows you don't find Chuck Norris, he finds you.
They aren't even coming close to where I live but it would be nice to see.
They are coming quite close to me, but $47.50 seems like an awful lot of money to pay to see a cover band, no matter how good they might be (and those are the cheaper of the two ticket prices).
I don't think I paid that much to see Roger Waters and he wrote the songs.

That's a good point. Here are a few more.Originally Posted by R_of_G
Recently I and many others have been discussing the actual costs of touring for bands that live in countries other than the USA when they tour the USA. The consensus is that $47.50 would actually be a very fair price.
1. You don't get the actual artist that wrote the songs in this case, but he doesn't tour with Floyd either so Gilmour's Floyd is covering Water's songs as well.
2. Floyd won't be touring any time soon. APF is bringing the music to many that have never heard and seen it preformed live and doing it in the same fashion production wise.
3. The only way foreign bands can actually come out ahead touring the USA is to either charge extremely high ticket prices or stay for several months and do a grueling day after day tour. Many foreign bands loose money on tour but they are promoting to improve album and merch sales and gain new fans. It is incredibly expensive to tour these days. EXAMPLE: I just saw Geoff Tate touring to promote his solo album - he has 18 people on his bus. Why? Because he likes people? Nope. It's to cut costs. Nobody in the band even got to bring amps because space was limited.
4. Many great artists these days have another day job and family they have to leave to do a tour. Sacrifice has to be worth something.
I'm sure there are more points I could come up with, but my objective is to illustrate that there is a cost to putting on entertainment of this level. I have yet to hear of anyone that felt like they didn't get their money's worth from an APF show.
Will I ever get to see the real Pink Floyd? No, and neither will the rest of us any more. Would I enjoy the same spectacle and music for the ticket price? Probably...if I really wanted to catch a Pink Floyd show.

Those are good points Spud and I would encourage anyone who wants to see them to see them.

I saw the Australien Pink Floyd Show last year in Dusseldorf.
They're worth every cent of the ticket fee. Some oft the arrangements are even closer to the album version than the live arrangements of PF itself.
But be careful: They play very loud; especially they have a very loud bass.
When they played the first takes of The dark side of the moon my own heart was stumbling by beeing punched from the "heartbeat" beats. Some of the visitors left the concert hall, because they felt pain by the loud music.
And: Never ever take a fotograph while listening to them. Their security personal will take you to the outside just in a minute. Very strange. I saw 4 visitors that were taken outside the concert hall.
Greetings
Christian
