Cool. Thanks for pointing that out. I am making a new pandora station based on Davis for the day.
As record albums go, Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue" may not be the biggest seller of all time, but it has influenced generations of jazz and other musicians and is about to celebrate its 50th birthday.

The Law of Gravity is nonsense. No such law exists. If I think I float, and you think I float, then it happens.

It's one of those albums whose influence cannot be overestimated. In jazz alone it's responsible for so much of what came afterwards, but it's reach goes far beyond jazz. Duane Allman credited Miles' and Coltrane's playing on that album with much of his soloing style. In the "making of" dvd for Dark Side of the Moon, the late Rick Wright discusses the impact that album had on the way he approached his piano parts for DSOTM.
"I happen to have perfect situational awareness, Lana. Which cannot be taught, by the way. Like a poet's ... mind for ... to make the perfect words." - Sterling Archer
"Kind Of Blue" is one CD I keep with me all the time.
There would be a huge gap in my cd collectin if Kind Of Blue was missing. It is one of these cds that has this special mood. Thanks for mentioning that cd and also Miles. He was just not from this Earth :-
