I've been wanting to take a few pictures of the signed guitars that are sometimes way up at the top, like the Stevie Ray Vaughan signed guitar.
They have some serious vintage guitars and amps there as well.

Yikes. That just looks (and sounds) painful to me. I've had plenty of pain for the last 6 months, so I'll skip the ink.

Speaking of pain, went to the school board meeting last night. Mrs. Krashpad spoke first of the evening and did great. After introducing herself, she asked anyone in attendance supporting the adult ed. ESOL program to please stand, and the ENTIRE MOTHRA-FARKING audience stood, and remained standing, for her entire (3-minute) presentation. She undercut the "budget" argument before it was ever made, and when the administration mouthpiece spoke later, she simply pretended Kim hadn't spoken (did not even attempt to refute any factual/legal assertions Kim had made), making the same budget argument that Kim had already shown was based on false assumptions. The admin mouthpiece ended up looking like a liar, stupid, or both. At the end of the evening, after UF profs, more teachers, ESOL students, and community group leaders ALL supported continuation of the program, one of the School Board Members specifically asked that the Admin Mouthpiece to provide her with an explanation (at some later, post-meeting, point) of how cutting the program would save any money (it's 100% funded by the state, if the program is cut, the school board will have LESS money, not more). So at least one Board member was paying attention.

Meanwhile, speaking of pain, this morning I about had a heart attack due to one of my clients not keeping in contact with me about due dates, which led to a couple panic-filled hours until I determined that he had gotten an extension of time, but never bothered to tell us about it, nor had he formally requested that we draft a brief within his new time frame.

    Phew.

    Been quite the 24 hours.

Yeah it sure is a nice pain...until about 3 hours after which it becomes quite a torture. 2 hours is good at once!

But, yeah, the sweet pain is what hooks people to it, I presume...

I guess I just never quite understood tattoos. Is it really Wednesday already? I'll call that a good thing.

    So, last weekend:

Friday: Not sure, actually. I think I tried to fix my tenant's fridge and semi-failed at it. Packed up a little bit of stuff in preparation for putting our house on the market in June, like making it more tidy-looking and what not.

Saturday: Slept in, lounged around for a bit, eventually went out for brunch at a super-crowded place in the city. We used up a gift certificate, so it was all good. Came home and did a little more cleaning if memory serves. Maybe watched a movie? Ate dinner and went to bed early.

Sunday: Got up and ran in the Broad Street Run, a 10-mile road race through downtown Philadelphia -- from the northern end straight down to the southerne end, actually. I think this was my 9th straight year of running it. It went reasonably well, if a bit slow due to lack of training. My wife and I are both happy to have it behind us, I think. Went out for lunch afterward and lounged around the rest of the day.

I like boring weekends like that.

Tats sure aren't everyone's cup of tea. For me, it started kinda by accident. For some reason I designed a tattoo, never really intended seriously of getting one...but it was just a graphic design, a kind of card deck joker in a very stylistic form; I thought it was a good logo to portray myself...and then, I happened to be walking past a new tattoo parlor and I just happened to have the picture I'd drawn between my study book still...and I went in just to ask out of curiosity how much would such a tattoo cost, and luck would have it, he had no customers just then and before I knew what had happened, it was done.

Never thought I'd have another, but then I drew up another self-portrait type thing, this time a Phoenix in similar style...and then it started developing into this life diary with names of my kids etc...

Last weekend: Spent a day or two rounding up equipment, then on Friday, set up sound system for our Relay for Life. Ran sound, played with my youth band (an hour and a half LATE, I might add... LOL), finally shut down and packed it up after midnight. Got to bed around 2. Got up at 5:30, went to Macon (3 hours) to see College Girl get inducted into a medical honor society. Ate lunch with her, came home, changed clothes and went to a friend's daughter's graduation party. Sunday morning got up went to band practice, played one song at church. After lunch, went home and replaced the rear brake pads on the wife's van. Cleaned out the tool box and sorted the tools in my truck. Knocked off around 8 and crashed for the next week.

This weekend: Helped the wife work late at school, getting ready for an accreditation review coming up this week. Baby Girl got back from a club field trip to a theme park about 2 hours away around 8. Got some supper and went home. Saturday morning - got up and headed to Macon again. This time to pack up College Girl to move her home for the summer. Her boyfriend was there to help (thankfully!). Her roommate's family was there too getting their daughter packed up. Finally got out of there around 6:30 or so. We ALL went to eat then drove home. Got home after midnight and got to bed after 1. Slept in, went to church (missed practice), had lunch with the in-laws and came home and CRASHED!!! lol... Met Mama and her "friend" for supper and gave her her cards. Now watching the end of the Amazing Race and resting up for another crazy week....

    Ya'll have a good one!!!

Friday: Went over to see some friends, ended up playing Wii to close out the night. I think my wife and I are both thinking we should buy a Wii eventually. The boxing actually got me sweating a little bit. Fun stuff.

Saturday: Woke up late, made breakfast, bummed around, did a little bit of weeding in the garden, played guitar for a bit, eventually went out on a huge shopping trip with my wife (groceries, etc.).

Sunday: Went to church in the morning, came home and sat outside for a while, cleaned out and organized the basement a little bit, played some more guitar. Learned the main riff thingy for "Are You Gonna Go My Way?", played some video games, made dinner.

Another glimpse into my exciting life, huh?

I never thought I'd like the Wii but we got one around the holidays last year and I love the thing. The boxing is quite a workout. That's probably the one I do the most often.

My wife bought me a Wii a few years ago. I wound up eBaying it and buying my Agile 3100, which I definitely get more use out of. That said, the Wii is a nice system and is conducive to socializing over video games. I just think that I burned out on video games in mid-adolescence.

Okay I'll also report w/more detail for a change...

Friday:Took the family to work etc. by eight, worked half day and got off work by one, went home and repaired the A/C unit with a handyman for several hours to no avail. (Note to self, need to fix it this week.) Washed dishes and did the laundry at the same time, then picked up wife&kids from work etc. Taught the older boy to finally drive a bicycle w/out helper wheels while having coffee, cleaned up the yard from dead leaves some more while watching kids play. In the evening we drove to the shops and bought 65m2 of laminate flooring plus some assorted stuff & a lego for the older guy & some light bulbs. Then had quick sauna and in the evening watched a movie with the wife after the kids slept, and wrote up some more ideas for the book and had a few beers after missus also went to bed, and also baked a cake for her for Sunday. Installed the light bulbs.

Saturday: woke up early w/the kids (around five) and packed stuff to go to the cottage; water, clothes, all kinds of stuff from various tools to car battery and TV and whatnot. Woke up missus and made her breakfast, then drove to shooting range where we worked on a new waste bin system building a small house for the waste bins there, while she minded the kids. Printed and laminated new membership cards for people there and roasted some sausages and talked with the buddies. Then I got back by three and we drove the 40 miles to the cottage and immediately had some beer and enjoyed the feeling. Then repaired the water lines from winter damage, cleaned up a little more and warmed up the stoves. Went rowing with the kids. Missus made food, then she went to take a 6-mile run while I went to sauna with the boys. Later I drew up some plans for the guest house I'll build in the summer, and filled the kid's sandbox with fresh sand using a handcart. Then we just kinda took it easy and drank some beers and watched TV sans sound because I had forgotten to pack the active speakers :-) Oh and at some point also planted a couple of trees by the neighboring lot's edge. When everybody else slept I sat on the dock and drank beer and whiskey and smoked and just enjoyed the shrieks of loons on the lake and the light of the early summer night and then burned some leaves when it did darken some by midnight, having a small bonfire just for me!

Sunday: woke up early but not super, maybe six or so with the kids, and made coffee and breakfast for missus, then we cleaned up cottage yard a little, packed and cleaned up and left for town. There I took the family to a nice buffet lunch, and then we went home by noon. Finished making the cake for her, and had coffee and cake with my dad who popped in. Lifted the laminates in the house thru the window. Played Lego Star Wars III with the boy for an hour or so, and then did some band stuff on my computer and re-muxed some videos for watching later (removing header compression). Updated some web pages and such stuff. Then we visited my mom with the whole family in the hospital. Minded the kids outside for a few hours while the missus went for another run. Washed up w/the kids and then played with them and Legos for an hour or so to create a StarWars battleground of sorts. Made noodles for dinner, and decided to skip beer that night, although later however had a few quick ones just before bed after all. Oh and watched another movie, except the missus went to bed earlier as usual so she missed the ending. Checked up Mondays work schedule and lesson plans and checked in the bed by midnight, setting the waker at 5:30.

Just realized it was DAMN hard to think back what did I do over the weekend, as it's already Tuesday...sheesh, my memory is really failing :-)

Crap Dee, I'm tired just from reading your post. I realize my weekends might be super-lame to read about, so maybe I'll just trim it to the exciting details from now on.

    Gah!

Computer froze up and I lost 95% of an intended post.

    Gist:

SAT church band practice, lacrosse (LAX) game won in "braveheart" OT after regular OT, mowed lawn, practice catching/throwing w/LAX stick w/boy (now that he has 2 sticks, one for a attack and one for D), can actually catch a lacrosse ball w/a stick now. Some of the time.

SUN played in church while kids and Mrs. K watched "Babies" movie on Netflix @ home, came home and watched Sopranos reruns and drank beer, early dinner @ Mexican restaurant, big blowup w/Krashpadito over "missing" assignments in Science class
