Where are you playing that there would be a redneck drunk?
Ok I was jamming with some guys and we were just making up a tune as we went but all of a sudden this drunk redneck sorta guy comes up plugs into his marshall and starts busting out some skynard......SO I end up playing 3 chords over and over again for about 5 minutes while hes playing solos (in the wrong key) and attempting to sing and when I finally get a solo it only last about 4 seconds until he starts noodling again. it totally ruined me I have not had the inspiration to play since then:

Ah, yes - reminds me of the time in high school in '73 when, in the middle of a gig a drunken classmate, wearing a cape a la Mick Jagger of the period, wrestled with me for the microphone while we were in the middle of 'Sympathy for the Devil". Funny how that works - being drunk didn't help him either, he couldn't sing a note.
At the time, it bothered me in the same way you describe, so I feel your pain ! Just get back up on yer horse and keep playing - there are, unfortunately, some number of insufferable jerks in the world, which you are bound to encounter now and again...:

It happens at jams, and when it does, I usually just pack up and leave really fast.
The Law of Gravity is nonsense. No such law exists. If I think I float, and you think I float, then it happens.

playing for drunks can be quite entertaining sometimes
(many)years ago during a decient sized gig, a large woman jumped the stage and tackled me, guitar and all. It was like a drunken flying tackle.she literaly blindsided me.
I'm wrestling with this woman and she's got me pinned down trying to kiss and bear hug me until A bouncer finally pulled her off and they escorted her out.all the time the band kept laughing and playing.
I had the big head for a while over it tho she was not an attractive or small woman in the least. I got alot of grief over that incident.
Annother time a guy jumps on stage and starts break dancing, he's doing it all, the robot , spinning on his back, freezing in all these contortions, it was hilarious and more entertaining than the band,I'm glad no one stopped him, I have it on video.(this was during just got paid - zz top)
when I figure out how to convert this stuff to digital I'll post it.
