Default Time to sum up the 2008 gear purchases...

    1. What gear that you bought in 2008 was the most enjoyable?
    2. What gear was the biggest disappointment?
    3. What did you sell this year that you now regret?

    1. Suhr Classic of course! :
    2. George L's solderless cables (they hate me, and I hate them )
    3. My trusty ol' Squier '51.

    1. My Hohner Revelation RTS guitar. It is now my main guitar. It took some getting used to as I mainly played strats and strat copies in the past. Plays and sounds awesome.

    2. EH Nano Chorus. Uber-noisy. The chorus effect isn't bad sounding, but the white noise in it drives me nuts.

    3. Haven't sold anything this year yet, I'm in acquisition mode.

    1. What gear that you bought in 2008 was the most enjoyable?
    - So far my new Klotz cable. It improved my sound so darn much. This can only be topped by a new old Marshall amph *lol*

    2. What gear was the biggest disappointment?
    - Not many aquisutions this year. No disappointment, hehehe.

    3. What did you sell this year that you now regret?
    - Almost sold my Jimi Hendrix Strat! I must have been crazy for a moment. This sale would have broken my heart. Fortunately, I still have it!!!!!

    1. I'm sorry, it's a tie. Peavey T-15 and Danelectro 'Black Coffee' distortion pedal. Even with a cheap amp I've got great tone.

    2. Danelectro Pastrami Overdrive. I like it and use it, but I wish I'd saved up more and gotten the Danelectro "Tansparent Overdrive".

    3. Behringer X-V Amp. I don't miss it, but I wish I'd gotten more than $20 for it.

    1. Either my Spector Performer or the Dimarzio Area '61s
    2. The fact that I bought a 1-Spot without getting the one with the extra plugs
    3. I didn't sell anything, although I considered it several times

Hagstrom Viking, but the Rabid Rodent deserves an honorable mention. Lots of fun in that pedal. The Vik wins because it is a guitar, and is so sweet.

    2. What gear was the biggest disappointment?
None really, though I bought some books and DVDs that I have not gotten around to using much yet so maybe that counts. Maybe my wah, not because there is anything wrong with it, but because I don't play with it much.

    3. What did you sell this year that you now regret?
I sold only my Fully ST-4, and while I miss it, I was able to get the Hagstrom so no regrets this year.

    2) The Vox AD30VT I had.
    3) Probably the Washburn Idol Prototype I traded to Strum.

    1. Line 6 M13, Digitech Vocalist Live4, Ibanez SZ520QM, Musicman Luke, Hagstrom Viking Deluxe, Deluxe Squier Strat, Classic Vibe 50s Strat.

    2. Folding amp stand (amps sound better on something solid)

    3. OLP MM1 guitar. (UPS damaged it and the didn't ask me to insure it so I had to refund to the purchaser and now I'm stuck with a damaged guitar) UPS SUCKS!

My "Gear for the Year 2008"

What gear that you bought in 2008 was the most enjoyable?
Until a couple of hours ago it was definitely the Fender Am Deluxe HSS Strat. Just got my Edwards 335 clone today though and It's already near the top after a couple hours of playing. Non-guitar wise The Olympus LS-10 Linear recorder. Brilliant piece of work that.

What gear was the biggest disappointment?
Amplitube. There appears to be a very good reason why people still buy amps and effects.

What did you sell this year that you now regret?
To avoid regret, I never sell anything.

Wow. I had a big year for aquisitions in 2008. I didn't realize until I checked.
I bought 5 guitars an Amp and a Delay pedal.
Most Enjoyable: As far as most enjoyable I would say my 1996 Gibson Les paul Standard.followed closely by my 2008 Gibson Studio. Then there are the Two Squier Deluxes and the CV50s Strat. The DD20 Giga Delay is a sweet pedal if I take the time to read the manual.

Biggest Dissapointment: I guess I would have to say the Marshall Amps. I tried one, and it had a lot of issues, the second one that I bought (DSL 401) has some tube issues that I haven't had time to fix. (Harmonic tube)
It does sound amazing and I am sure once I get a couple of tubes replaced it will sound even better. This is my first second hand amp purchase so it might just be a learning curve for me.

Sales and Trade-ins: I traded a 2006 Epiphone LP Standard and it was a nice guitar but I got the two deluxes in it's place and with the two Gibson purchases it did not hurt at all. I don't regret trading it.

2009 will be an interesting year. I plan on downsizing quite a lot and I am only looking at buying a 2/12 Cab. Probably not the best time to sell equipment so I may wait. Space is the issue now.

    1. My Fender blue flower strat

    2. Behringer Vintage Overdrive

    3. Nothing actually.. well perhaps the Schecter.
I can't say that I've given up on a flanger cause I've never liked the effect either. I also can't say the same about Tremolo. I hate them both equally. - Tone2TheBone 2009

What gear that you bought in 2008 was the most enjoyable?
    Martin D12-1.

What gear was the biggest disappointment?
Presonus audio interface. After several computer crashes, it was back to where you came from!!
second place in this category, a Intellitouch tuner. Wanted something small, for tuning in noisy bars. Works fine for the D, G, B, high E strings. Very fussy for the low E and A strings.

What did you sell this year that you now regret?
Sold the MIM Strat but do not really regret it.

    1. Unfortuately I didn't buy gear this year, except for picks and strings. They all performed reasonably well.
    2. The biggest disappointment was that I did not buy any new gear this year, and haven't since Christmas, 2006.
    3. I am an accumulator. Selling gear is a strange and foreign process to me. I guess you could call me the Anti-Strum. :

    1.
I would say the Sx hollow body has been the most enjoyable and still getting use to it.
    2.
Gibson Brite wire strings. Do not like them.
    3.
I haven't sold anything but Kodiak did take the Squire Strat back to his house, kinda miss it at times.

    1. What gear that you bought in 2008 was the most enjoyable?
I will say the Epi Valve Jr. I really like my Wildkat, but the VJR I can use with all the electric guitars.

    2. What gear was the biggest disappointment?
    None

    3. What did you sell this year that you now regret?
I think it was this year, but regardless, it has to be the Ibanez ARC300. I wish someone would have talked me out of that transaction.

Ronnie, you are making me feel guilty about the Washburn.

    1. I bought all my gear this year, so all of it.

    2. The D10 which turned out to be ummm...collapsible.

    3. I haven't sold anything, which will probably turn out to be my usual response to this question.
