    Default Lord of the Strings

In thread Guitar Chris says that Thomas Blug was elected Stratking of Europe

    http://www.thefret.net/showthread.php?t=9809

To American eyes "Stratking" looks like something out of Lord of The Rings.

It got me thinking about an all guitar version.

Strats for Gondor: Return of the Stratking

Teles for Rohan (they are riders of horses)

    Jazz boxes for the Elves

Les Pauls or basses for the Dwarves

Some metal-type axes for the Ringwraiths

    Simple acoustics for the Hobbits.

    what else & what amphs?

I always think their music would sound a lot like Bill Frisell. Then again so could Rohan's... Depends on which album.

Good choices though! I love Tolkien.

    Elected?
    By whom?
Did everyone in EU get a vote or was it more like an Electoral College kind of election?

Aragorn, with a hint of elvish blood from the days of old and Westernesse, needs a Hagstrom Viking. I am pretty sure I posted that concept a long time ago in a thread. Ah yes, here it is, with my thoughts at the time. http://www.thefret.net/showthread.ph...d+of+the+rings

Looks like I gave the Hagstrom Vik to Elrond last time I thought about it. I gave Gandalf and Saruman shred type guitars initially. tOta, you had some good thoughts on this the first time around. Interesting to see what you came up with when you thought about it again.

R_of_G, given your moniker and obvious enjoyment of the Dark Tower series, that you like Tolkien does not surprise me at all. He is my favorite author.

Mine too. The Tolkien catalog is more precious (pun intended) to me than even the DT series.
