    Default Gibson Electric Acoustic Archtop

    As i watched the Paul Mccartney show last night ,i was amazed by the sound of one of the guitarist Rusty Anderson which played a 1959 Gibson 335 ..My god what a nice lookin & soundin guit ..

    I sound like a broken record, but the Gibson ES335 is one of the best production guitars out there today and it deserves repeating, one of the most versatile. I see more and more guitarist in older bands and newer bands turning to them.

    It is, without a doubt #1 on my list of "some day"

    I guess this is true that Gibson products are a little set aside in this forum,it has been a friendly battle between Fender & Gibson for decades now..I love both ..

    Count me in also. I really like the sound of 335's. They are a great guitar for many styles and they seem to have a character all their own.

    I've owned 335 copies in the past, but never the real thing.

    My only gripe with 335's is that they're a bit heavy. But I'd be interested in trying one of those new ES-339's some day. These are essentially a 335 with a smaller body, similar in tone. I haven't seen any in the guitar stores yet, but I can't afford one any way.

    I've never played an actual 335 however.

    When I was 15 I went down to the Charing Cross Road to buy a fuzzbox (Coloursound Tonebender Mk III, £13). The guy in Macari's handed me an early 60's 335 to try it out. I can't see that happening these days. That's about the last time I played a real 335.

    I love the sound and neck on my Heritage 535. I would like to check out one of the Gibson 336 or 339s though as the size of the 335 body can be very awkward.
