I would think all black wire is meant for negative in standard wiring so white to positive ....................
Which goes to the positive lug on the speaker? White or Black?
I pick a moon dog.

That's what I thought, but after googling about & asking an electrician friend. It seems that either there's no standard or the it's common that black goes to positive & white to ground.Originally Posted by mrmudcat

Tot hopefully someone smarter can shed some light on this:

Doesn't matter as long as each of the ends goes to the matching polarity.

Like in a lot of things, consistency is more important than accuracy.
Electric: Fat strat > Korg PB > TS7 > DS1 > DD-20 > Cube 60 (Fender model)
Acoustic: Guitar > microphone > audience
I was hoping that there was a standard so I could determine this. I guess that there isn't.Originally Posted by Rocket
I got a response from the manufacturer of my amp. He wires white to + and black to -.

As long as you keep the polarity / color consistent, it won't make a difference.
I go with a U.S house wiring theme - black is hot, white is return.
