I used the middle position on my '51. Amp was the AD50VT, I think it was the tweed 4x10 model. I turned down the volume knob a bit too, to remove some of the higher frequencies from the tone.

I can't say that I've given up on a flanger cause I've never liked the effect either. I also can't say the same about Tremolo. I hate them both equally. - Tone2TheBone 2009
