Not to me it doesn't. I've gigged for years with the M13 and nobody ever mentioned that my sound was 'digital' either. An interesting aside - My M9 sounds better than my M13, just a little clearer and the effects sound more pronounced. Same software versions too.
The M9 and M13 has really curbed my pedal g.a.s. as well. If I get urges I just go dial something up.

That's a weird feeling, isn't it? Maybe my standards have gone down, but knowing roughly how to get stuff sounding good through tweaking and the preponderance of high-quality and low-cost gear (Line 6, Squier CV, Jet City, etc.) has really made the tone chase kind of a secondary thing at this point. At least that's kind of what I've found. Makes me wonder what I'm supposed to do when I don't have an instrument to plink away on...
