Sorry for resurrecting an old thread. I don't remember hearing this before. I always love how he plays these cool riffs with a look on his face like he's telling you the barometric pressure. I would have thought that his tone would be more overdriven than it is. It certainly isn't crystal clean.
I also appreciate that he tended to veer away (often far away) from standard p-bass/j-bass body designs.
