    Nice tone indeed. Not sure that it qualifies as the "best", but it's right up there.

    I was just in the car picking up Chinese food for the family, and I would dare say that Robben Ford's tone on "Step On It", which I heard in transit, is among the finest LP blues toneage I've ever heard. Talk about thick, rich & creamy!!

    I love Robben Ford's tone, but sometimes I think it is a little too polished. Anyways, talking modern blues tone Robben is among my TOP 10, besides such guys as Henderson who's got an excellent blues tone, too.

    There are so many great players with wonderful guitar sound it's hard for me to point to one.
    I remember thirty years ago I thought this group was pretty hot.
