Mercury Magnetics are great sounding transformers. But they are very expensive. If you decide to go with them, I would make sure the replacement transformer is an exact fit. The one thing you don't want to do to your vintage amp is drill extra holes to mount the new transformer.

You may also look into having the original transformer rewound. I'm not sure who does this, but you may want to check with Heyboer. At the very least, keep the old OT in case someone down the road wants to rewind it.
