Xaviere XV870 Sound Clips

OK. I figured out how to post some clips!:bravo: They are .wav rather than .mp3 and might take slightly longer to load. Anyway, I recorded on a SRV setting with my V-Amp 2 into Audacity. The pickups that are in the Xaviere are these: http://store.guitarfetish.com/stvialstpise.html and the clips are labeled. Basically I just played a few chords and then noodled around. Nicely done! I like the nice bell-like tone from your Xaviere. I don't hear a lot of quack from the in-between positions though. Thanks for the demo.

If you want to convert the wav files to mp3 files do a Google lookup for cdex. It is a free tool that converts back and forth from these formats, it can also rip CDs to either format. If you are not familiar with mp3 I would recommend using at least 128K sample rate when converting to mp3 to get decent fidelity. If you convert to mp3 at 128k the file will end up being about 10% the size of the wav file, and that is good for people with slower internet connections.

Thanks for the info on Cdex. I just changed the .wav files over to MP3 and they load much quicker now.

Thanks for the kind words. All of my equipment is relatively "cheap" (I like to think of it as getting a good deal!) so I try to get the most out of it! I could buy more expensive gear but then I couldn't buy as often, which for me is half the fun!

Now, I'm learning how to record and post clips! This is getting fun!

You can also use the LAME (unfortunate name, eh?) MP3 encoder for WAV-to-MP3 conversion, which is recommended & linked on the Audacity website, HERE.

I really love the Surf Green version of the XV870 w/ the rosewood neck (image below). Thinking seriously about selling that MIK Squier I recently bought and getting one of those instead. Not that there's anything wrong with the Squier (played it for the better part of an hour just this morning--just a great neck & setup), but there's just something about a Surf Green Strat that floats my boat....
