EDIT: Just watched the promo. That rocks!! (in a mellow way) I am definately going to get this. Father's day gift request I think. Robert pointed out that youtube and google are in trouble with the robber barons and my favorite vid of Old Man from the 71 BBC concert may go away. Can't find a place to buy it (so why are they hassling youtube, cause VH1 plays it sometimes?) so this may be the next best thing. I don't get VH1 so I can't record it myself.

I can't wait to buy my copy. The local store was out, but has some coming back in. By local store, I mean the local Starbucks. Our record stores are out of business unfortunately. Thanks Sunvalley! That old dude was the (maintenence?) guy living on Neil's Santa Cruz Ca ranch (I used to live in Santa Cruz) when he bought it. He stayed & worked for Neil...& yes, that is the Old Man that the song is about.

I have been to Santa Cruz on a college era surf trip in my buddy's old idaho pickup. We drove down to SanDiego and worked our way back up the coast trying to surf on old used boards we bought down there. I remember hanging in an arcade at the beach playing pole position in Santa Cruz, and some local kids calling us "Vals". LOL! that was one fun trip.

I also lived in La Jolla for about 6 years. I never surfed however.
