Check out these guitars. Spudman and I watched Steve Miller play both of these in Ketchum this September and they sounded sweet! Below are the auction links for only 32K each. They are being auctioned off to support firefighters. I llinked a story about them lower down. Not that I would pay 32k for a guitar, but they are nice, and they are what Steve plays. :D Check the specs on these as listed in the auction. Pretty interesting. His customer list is pretty impressive too.

Hopefully someone will get these guitars and help out the people that worked so hard to save the valley.

First up was this actor/amateur musician Bruce Willis. OK for a bar band but I wouldn't pay to see him twice.

Next was Carole King. Man did she have some good vibe. She was fresh from her "Living room Concert" tour where she actually does shows in people's living rooms. Man has she written a ton of hits or what. Everything she did was a hit for her or somebody and she played solo. I felt like I was in someones living room...really cold living room...with a lot of people I didn't know. This is her jamming with Steve at the end of the night encores.

Last but not least was the gracious and rocking "gangster of love" himself, Steve Miller. He played for at least 2 hours. He started the evening playing each of the custom built guitars and here he is donating them later in the evening.

Plenty of people showed up to enjoy the locals playing at home for a change.

This is some of what happened weeks before.

The hills on the left used to be living trees. We just rode out bicycles down through some of the destruction.

Very close to town and the hills on the right were mostly sage and grass. They burn incredibly fast.

Hey. This is big news around the region. They are talking about it on the radio news today. It might even be in the TV news but I don't watch TV so I wouldn't know.
So 64K is pretty cheap for all the work those fire fighters did.

They both have the flames on the front and they are freaking hot! From where we were standing, when he started playing just after dark, I said to SpudSteve, "Dude, that guitar has flames on it" because it was after all a fire benefit. Then a few songs later, he introduces the guitars and the reasons, and shows the backs with the different art. That lady he is handing the guitar to is Jeanne Pinca-Tulley, who headed the combined effort and is a federal wildfire commander. Not too long after this fire, she was down there in So Cal battling those blazes. She spoke of the very real way the financial support benefits firefighters who have been harmed in some way (covering things that are not otherwise covered by insurance, etc.) It was very moving. She was extremely calm in a tense situation here, and helped keep a bunch of high energy folks up here calmed down. Also, she kicked ash and got the job done. I sure hope they do well with these guitars.
