So the wind is picking up and Tropical Storm Fay is bearing down. I made the mistake of setting my plastic go-cup of sweet tea on top of my van, putting my briefcase and files in the vehicle whilst leaving work, and it (the go-cup of tea) blew right off. The storm's eye looks to pass directly overhead about 6 a.m. tomorrow morning.
I filled up my van with gas yesterday, and we're pretty set for a short power outage if need be. In Florida, there is a long tradition of "Hurricane Parties," so I stopped on the way home from work and bought a 12-pack.
I walked in from the garage, on arriving back home at Casa Krashpad earlier this evening, 12-pack (well, by then it was a 10-pack, it is an 8-mile drive) in hand, and Mrs. Krashpad immediately cracked up laughing.
When I put the beer in the fridge I knew why: she had had the same thought and had herself gone out and bought a 12-pack. So now we've 20 beers to get us through the night of the storm's arrival.
Feel free to share stories of what a great gal (or guy) your better half is.
